Anderson Cooper Comes Out and Admits being Gay: Has support from Celeb friends on Twitter

Today is the first time Anderson Cooper publicly made a statement about his sexuality. The CNN journalist told The Daily Beast columnist and gay rights activist Andrew Sullivan, “The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself and proud.”

Cooper came out after being asked by Sullivan to comment on the idea of gay public figures. He was not trying to hide it before, he has already come out to his family and friends. Cooper felt that his personal life and beliefs was something he would not have to discuss publicly prior because he thought his life should remain private.

He has the support flowing in from many celebrity friends on twitter. Read below.

The Silver Fox’s fellow talk show host DeGeneres tweeted, “I’m proud of you, @AndersonCooper.”

Ripa is, as well. “So proud of you, @anderson cooper,” the Live! With Kelly host wrote. “Always have been, always will be.”

Cooper’s favorite Real Housewives star, NeNe Leakes tweeted, “That did it…Now I really love @andersoncooper.”

Josh Groban having some fun by tweeting, “Wait, I’m sorry I only get my news by creeping up behind water coolers with an iPod in my ears. Anderson Cooper is Gaelic?”
