Unsurprisingly, these figures did not sit well with Milla Jovovich, who, on her Twitter account, blamed the poor showing on distributor Summit Entertainment’s marketing campaign: “I think ‘summit’ have swept ’3 Musketeers’, a great family adventure film, under the rug in the US.”
Of course, it could just be that viewers are bored of seeing the same old stories told and retold over and over again. Personally, I’ve seen enough Three Musketeers movies to last me more than a lifetime.
Lindsay Lohan Turned Away From LA County Morgue
Things have not been going well for our starlett of late. Yesterday her probation was revoked by the court and she was led away in handcuffs (although she did make her $100,000 bond and, as such, had not yet had to spend additional time in jail); today, after being 40 minutes late for her court-ordered community service, she was turned away without having completed any hours. At yesterday’s hearing, Judge Sautner ordered Lindsay Lohan to complete at least sixteen hours of community service at the county morgue before her hearing on November 2. Given her failure to take previous court orders seriously, I wouldn’t be surprised if she heads back to jail.
Halle Berry’s Stalker to Stand Trial
Richard Anthony Franco, 27, currently in jail with a $150,000 bond, has been ordered to stand trail. He is charged with stalking and residential burglary. His victim was none other than Halle Berry, who was reportedly left fearing for both her and her daughter’s safety. At one point, she hired round the clock security for her home in order to protect herself from Richard Franco.
Lindsay Lohan Kicked Out of Community Service Program
In the never-ending saga of “just how low can she go?” that has become Lindsay Lohan’s life, Lindsay Lohan has reportedly been kicked out of her community service program, ordered by the Court as part of her probation deal after she pled guilty for stealing a necklace. She had been ordered to perform 360 hours of community service at the Downtown Women’s Center in LA, with the judge requiring her to be “reliable, non disruptive and serve at least four hours at a time.” After repeated violations, the DWC had apparently had enough. What’s Lindsay going to say to Judge Sautner now during her probation hearing on October 19th? If Lindsay doesn’t shape up her act, she may head back to prison, which, frankly, might not be such a bad thing for her. It’s going to take something drastic to end this girl’s downwards spiral.

Eating disorders and Hollywood–the two really do seem to go hand-in-hand, don’t they? Demi Lovato, popularly known as the “Skyscraper” singer is one of the latest in a long line of starletts to have her eating disorder experience hit the tabloids. Supposedly, Demi Lovato was so concerned about her weight that she was afraid to drink orange drink, fearing that it would make her fat. With young girls and teenagers everywhere looking up to the female celebrities as the pinnacle of achievement and beauty, is it any wonder that the incidence of eating disorders in this country is exploding? Seriously, celebrities need to do themselves and the rest of the world a favor–if you can’t refrain from having the eating disorder, the least you can do is avoid glamorizing it.

Amelia Lily’s parents lashed back after their daughter’s abrupt dismissal from the X-Factor, calling the judge’s decision “cruel” and claiming that the X-Factor treated contestants unfairly: “I know it’s a competition, but I don’t know why the contestants are built up so much and then so easily dropped. You have to expect ups and downs in the entertainment industry, but this was very cruel. The contestants are put in a vulnerable position.” Seriously, what did Amelia’s parents expect? Reality shows care about ratings, not about the feelings of this year’s batch of contestants. Reality show competitions like the X-Factor thrive on belittling their contestants–there’s a reason that one of the most popular episodes of American Idol every season is the one in which all the rejects, who think that they’re God’s gift to the singing world and yet can’t carry a tune, are mocked and then booted unceremoniously out of the audition. Regarding the case of Amelia Lily, the judges didn’t put her in a vulnerable position–you did. You had to have known what reality shows were like, and you allowed your daughter to perform anyway. This is on you, not the judges who kicked your daughter off the show.

While Demi Moore, 48, is rumored to be consulting with a divorce lawyer after her husband Ashton Kutcher’s alleged affair with Sarah Leal, Bones star David Boreanaz says that his affair was actually good for his marriage. Last year, Boreanaz, 42, admitted to having had an affair. To add insult to injury, he was sleeping with the object of his affections, Rachel Uchitel, while his wife, Jaime Bergman, was pregnant with their second child. Boreanaz insists, however, that his infidelity served as a bonding experience for him and his wife, telling TV Week: “In a sacred ground like marriage, you find yourself out of it at certain times for reasons unknown that can be destructive. There could be a demon that kind of comes out and overtakes you. Do I believe in giving up? No, I don’t. I’m a fighter. I’m a lover.” Although angry and hurt by Boreanaz’s actions, Bergman was willing to work on their marriage rather than throw in the towel.
Infidelity and emotional affairs can indeed be the result of problems within the cheater’s relationship, or the existence of unmet needs. That said, I do not condone cheating in any shape or form. Boreanaz’s example, however, may provide some comfort and hope for Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.
